POSITIVE MALE TRAITS TO BE ENCOURAGED IN MEN

POSITIVE MALE TRAITS TO BE ENCOURAGED IN MEN

Dr. John H. Braccio talks with Dave Akerly on the “Morning Wake-Up With Dave Akerly” radio show, on 3/12/19 on WLNS, 1320 a.m. in Lansing, Michigan about POSITIVE MALE TRAITS TO BE ENCOURAGED IN MEN. Too much in our society demeans men by stereotyping negative behaviors of specific males to all males and ignoring the same or comparably bad behaviors of women. Men that love their spouses and children need to be highlighted and praised in our society rather than the scoundrels who have children and have little or nothing to do with them or the mothers of the children. We also need to praise men who mentor their children and others to be their best by example, support and encouragement. Men are half of the world population and we need to support them by helping them by example and encouragement free from the ideological stereotypes of the current or past generations. Therapists and clergy need to meet men where they are emotionally and help them find the best ways to be their best and not try to fit them into a mold based on the vagaries of the current age. As appropriate for the person, spirituality can be a great support to give direction to a man’s life where purpose and behavior are inappropriate for positive emotional growth.
