WHY ‘MISERY LOVES COMPANY’ AND HOW TO RESIST BEING DRAWN INTO ITS WEBB

Dr. John H. Braccio talks with Dave Akerly on the “Morning Wake-Up With Dave Akerly” Radio Show, on 2/27/18 on WILS, 1320 a.m.in Lansing, Michigan about WHY ‘MISERY LOVES COMPANY’ AND HOW TO RESIST BEING karatay bayan partner DRAWN INTO ITS WEBB. It is sadly a common human behavior for persons who feel miserable to try to make others hurt as much as they do. For our own mental health we must not allow this to happen. We must control our thoughts and feelings and not allow “toxic” persons to put their misery on us emotionally. We must limit our exposure to such “toxic persons” regardless of how close of a relationship we have with them. They also discuss the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics that all children twelve and over need an evaluation for depression screening on an annual basis. The Academy says one of five children twelve and over is clinically depressed and half of them are not diagnosed and do not have treatment. Dr. Braccio feels the number might be high but he has seen many children and adolescents in that age group do have depression and some combination of antidepressants and counseling can be helpful. Each situation is different as is each treatment.
