UNFORTUNATE OUTCOMES WHEN PARENTS TREAT CHILDREN AS SPOUSES, CONFIDANTS OR NEEDY SUPPORT

Dr. John H. Braccio talks with Dave Akerly on the “Morning Wake-Up With Dave Akerly” radio show, on 2/12/19 on WLNS, 1320 a.m. in Lansing, Michigan about UNFORTUNATE OUTCOMES WHEN PARENTS TREAT CHILDREN AS SPOUSES,CONFIDANTS OR NEEDY SUPPORT. Parents need to help and instruct their children. It is inappropriate for parents to not do this. Negative outcomes would include co-dependence between a parent and child, vulnerability to unfair relationships with spouses and friends, overdeveloped conscience, self-blame in relationships, and poor self-esteem development.
